CHAPTER-10

Both grammar and Communication are connected with one goal that is transfer your thoughts into other people’s mind. When we find difficult to express our thoughts we have to divide the thoughts in to several different but over lapping steps.


What I learnt from this chapter
  1.  When we find difficult to express our thoughts we have to divide the thoughts in to several different but over lapping steps.
  2. Flow of thought from sentence to sentence is important to develop from grammar to communication


What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  • I knew that proper explanation has to be given for our ideas in order to make it to reach people.
  •  I also knew that there must be proper flow of thought from one sentence to other. 


 Concept that I used in blog post that I already written

          While doing the exercise I found that proper idea of the concepts has to be developed in order to understand the basic meaning of the concept. Then elaboration and summarizing is also important in order to solve.


 Concept applied to other subjects
The concept can be applied in the subjects that we study because each and every needs proper understanding, summarizing, evaluating and finally transfer of knowledge to the reader.

CHAPTER-09

Clarity is very important and hence clarity principle has to be implemented. This concept is more important in picture images because an image gives more than one meaning so the clarity principle has to be applied here.

What I learnt from this chapter

  • I learnt from this chapter how to use clarity, clarity depends on picture words, picture words should have only one meaning.
  • Literal meaning no longer fully holds and new related meaning.

What I already knew and was given in the chapter

  1.   I knew that few sentences will have more than one meaning but after reading the chapter I understood to differentiate the different meanings within a statement and also to some extent learnt to bring out the underlying meaning.

Mistakes made when answering the questions given at the end of the chapter
  • While  working out the exercises  in the beginning I found it difficult to understand the meanings exactly but after solving few I developed few ideas which made me to track out things easily. 
  • Even though author gives different meaning in the beginning later the concept could be brought out.

The concept can be applied to different subjects which we study so that we can learn to understand the correct meaning of the concepts.

CHAPTER-08

This chapter teaches us how to bring clarity in communication. With the help of picture words communication can be made clearer. There are very less chances that the person will misunderstand you if there is clarity.

What I learnt from this chapter

     ·   Relationship between connecting words and picture words when make clear, it’s easy for the reader to understand.

  • Wrongly framed sentence with inappropriate picture words, leads to misunderstanding.

What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  •        Clarity in communication is very important to avoid misunderstanding
  •      Clear picture will help save the efforts to repeat again
  •        Listener has a overall idea of thoughts only if we give proper information.

·         I realised that it’s important to have clarity in the way we write blog. So that the readers get a clear idea of what we think.  

Concept applied to other subjects
·         Clarity is very important while write exams. It helps the evaluator to evaluate easily without much complication.
·         This concept is very helpful for all theory subjects to make the answer effective.




CHAPTER-7

               This chapter states that we should avoid monotony, which means we should not be repeating the same thing over and over again. Repetition annoys the reader and also proves the incapability of the speaker to be innovative.

What I learnt from this chapter

  •   To create emphasis, it is necessary to use 3 devices. They are: Pointing out, repetition, shortening you seen.
  •          To avoid monotony we can focus more on variety and emphasis
  •         Too much of monotony can get the listeners annoyed and irritated

  • What I already knew and was given in the chapter


  1.    Emphasis helps to make our reader to concentrate more on certain aspects
  2.    Emphasis allows us to shorten them
  3.    Repetition is the process of repeating important words, image each time again and again to hold our reader’s attention.

 Misread few questions since they were very lengthy.

Concept that I used in blog post that I already written
 I realised the repetition cannot be used while blogging, as the monotony might confuse the readers.

Concept applied to other subjects
    While writing exams for we should try to cut down the length of the sentence, because lecturers don’t have patience to ready lengthy answers. So it’s better even we write most simplified form of answer.
      This concept is very helpful for all theory subjects to make the answer effective.


CHAPTER-6

In this chapter we learn how to write in a simple way. Simple sentence can easily understand to listener and reader. Simplicity is the ratio between total numbers of words in it to the connecting words in it. 

What I learnt from this chapter
  •  Normal sentence consist of action, identification and actor.
  • I learned how to use simple sentence.
  • Difficulty arises when we use wrong connectors, illogical order and telling unnecessary facts. 

What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  1.  Causes of difficulty can be corrected.
  2.   Short sentence emphasize individual detail.
  3.   Sentence should make sense.  
Mistakes made when answering the questions given at the end of the chapter
  1.     Since it was group task I made less mistakes.
  2.     Misread few questions since they were very lengthy.


Concept that I used in blog post that I already written         I realised even some of the sentences which I used in the blog, needs to be simplified.

CHAPTER-5

This teaches how short down the length of the sentence.In this chapter we learn how to choose right length for your sentence.

What I learnt from this chapter
  • Effective sentence is one which conveys the message in least words.
  • I learnt how to make sentence with proper word or limited words it is more effective.
  • Sentences can must of its meaning from the previous statements.


What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  1.  if the sentence is very long, we can always break it into to using appropriate connectors.
  2. Sentence is always in sense. 
  3. sentence must have meaning

CHAPTER-4

 This chapter teaches about the connectors. There are 3 types, linking, condensing, and non-word.


What I learnt from this chapter
  1. I learnt importance of connectors.
  2. And    Even punctuation marks acts as connectors any change should be made them known in advance
  3. When someone is going through a thought, he will be interested to know where the thought is leading to

What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  •   try to put all our idea or thought in one sentence, which leads to lot of confusion.And Linking connectors help to connect two or more sentences
  • Less word are more effective 

Mistakes made when answering the questions given at the end of the chapter
I cant understand question in properly and it becomes confusing.

 Concept that I used in blog post that I already written
·         I realized that even I tried to tell a lot of things in a single sentence, which looked very confusing. After reading this chapter I changed it. I changed few sentences which had wrong connectors.

Connectors should be properly used while giving presentations to made it sound less confusing. Very important in individuals and organisational behaviors, where using good English is very important 

CHAPTER-3

In this chapter we learn put picture word and connecting word together to make a sentence. Readers can’t memorize whatever we tell like a tape recorder, so it’s very important to use connecting words and picture words wisely.

What I learnt from this chapter      
  • Proper usage of connecting words and picture words will help us to reduce grammatical errors.  
  • Should not allow our idea to block another’s idea.
  •  Important to connect sentences properly so that the other person understands your logic.

 
What I already knew and was given in the chapter
        Too many words will confuse the reader, so instead use connecting word.
        Cut down the sentences by using both picture words and connecting words.
       If sentence formation is correct, there is no need to put picture words and connecting words.
       Without the awareness of the speaker, one uses a lot of connectors.

Mistakes made when answering the questions given at the end of the chapter
             Misread few questions in hurry.
          Was not able to understand some questions.
          Went wrong in framing sentences.

         Changed few connecting words to give better meaning for my sentence. In all the blog.

        I try to changed few sentences which where grammatical wrong.

CHAPTER-2

This chapter is all about how sentences are connect. This helps us how to connect two or more phares, sentences together. Instead of using more sentences unnecessarily, it better he we connect them in a proper manner using connecting words.  

What I learnt from this chapter
  1.   This helps us how to connect two or more phares, sentences together
  2. Good usage of connecting word makes our English more presentable, which will be a plus point.
  3. Helps us reduce the usage of unnecessary sentences.

  1. I cant understand chapter and how to use word for answer  the question.
  2. Using wrong connecting words and wrong in framing sentences

CHAPTER-1

The chapter  is entirely based on the two parts of grammar. One is  picture words and connecting words. When we consider a picture word the whole image comes in mind and there will be no necessary for other support to add to it.

What I learnt from this chapter
  1. we consider a rose then we will get an idea about its color , size, shape. 
  2. Picture words show us actions , details, judgement and feelings.

What I already knew and was given in the chapter
  • What I knew before is that the connectors will give meaning to the sentences but the idea behind was not clear.
  • Had an idea about images but what that image exactly interprets and be learnt here


Mistakes made when answering the questions given at the end of the chapter
While solving I found it difficult to imagine the exact image but later after solving many examples the idea was clear.

I felt that the concept if was already studied I could have made my blog much better my using words which creates more creative images.

In the subjects like organizational behaviour the concepts can be applied to make complicated things easy.
