This chapter states that we
should avoid monotony, which means we should not be repeating the same thing
over and over again. Repetition annoys the reader and also proves the
incapability of the speaker to be innovative.
What I learnt from this chapter
- To create emphasis, it is necessary to use 3 devices. They are: Pointing out, repetition, shortening you seen.
- To avoid monotony we can focus more on variety and emphasis
- Too much of monotony can get the listeners annoyed and irritated
- What I already knew and was given in the chapter
- Emphasis helps to make our reader to concentrate more on certain aspects
- Emphasis allows us to shorten them
- Repetition is the process of repeating important words, image each time again and again to hold our reader’s attention.
Mistakes made when answering the
questions given at the end of the chapter
Misread
few questions since they were very lengthy.
Concept that I used in blog post
that I already written
I
realised the repetition cannot be used while blogging, as the monotony
might confuse the readers.
Concept
applied to other subjects
While
writing exams for we should try to cut down the length of the sentence, because
lecturers don’t have patience to ready lengthy answers. So it’s better even we
write most simplified form of answer.
This
concept is very helpful for all theory subjects to make the answer effective.
